Harlingen High School South students spent an afternoon gaining knowledge about water conservation in hopes of assisting their campus and community this May.
Joel Cruz, Energy Manager at HCISD, visited students to give a presentation regarding water conservation, and answered any questions the students may have as to district’s water consumption on May 16.
His visit was especially useful for students who are tackling the challenge of creating a water conservation plan as part of their Project Based Learning coursework. The information Cruz provided regarding the school’s water consumption gave a better understanding of the district’s current policies for students to use in creating the plan.
The students work in groups to create a video presentation showcasing their water conservation plan. They will show the video to campus administration and the HCISD Board of Trustees in hopes to implement some of their ideas.
