Harlingen CISD celebrates growth in state accountability results

Harlingen CISD increased its overall state accountability score by one point and once again earned the state’s Postsecondary Readiness Distinction, recognizing its work to prepare students for college, careers or military service after high school.

Eight HCISD campuses earned an A rating, and 16 earned a B rating. The results reflect the hard work of students, the dedication of teachers and staff, and the support of families throughout the district.

“These results represent much more than a rating. They reflect the determination of our students and the commitment of the people who support them every day,” said Superintendent Dr. Veronica Kortan. “Across our campuses, I see educators working together, setting high expectations and believing in what our students can accomplish. We have so much to celebrate, and we will continue building on this progress.”

The district’s improvement reflects ongoing collaboration among teachers, staff and campus leaders to support student learning. Through careful planning, encouragement and a shared focus on student success, HCISD educators continue to help students grow.

“We are proud of our students and grateful to the teachers, staff and families who make this progress possible,” said Board President Eladio Jaimez. “These achievements reflect a shared commitment across HCISD to help every student succeed. As a board, we remain committed to supporting opportunities that prepare our students for their futures.”

Guided by this year’s theme, “Imagine the possibilities,” HCISD will continue working with families and the community to strengthen learning opportunities and build on the district’s achievements.
