From April 14 – April 20, The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District will celebrate National Library Week to honor the role libraries play in the lives of millions of people across the nation.
The week showcases the services that HCISD’s libraries provide, and their work to meet the changing needs of the students that use them. The celebrations are also dedicated to the librarians that work with students every day and find the information they need to succeed in the classroom.
HCISD will host a variety of events throughout the five-day celebration. The week accompanies National School Library Month (NSLM) , which is held every year. The theme for the 2013 NSLM is “Communities Matter at Your Library.”
