On January 16, Harlingen High School South’s Speech Drama Debate team competed at King High School’s Annual TFA tournament. The team came out on top with a 1st place sweepstakes award.
This win comes on the heels of their 5th place win out of 60 schools at the Churchill Classic in San Antonio on January 8.
The Churchill Classic serves as a National Individual Events Tournament Of Champions qualifier. The following students earned a bid to this prestigious tournament by advancing to semifinals in their respective events: Dramatic Interpretation – Jaime Gomez, Valerie Luevanos, Zac Mason, and Enrique Cantu; Humourous Interpretation – Jessica Durant; Original Oratory – Chris Smith and Lizzie Everrett.
