The Memorial Middle School seventh and eighth grade Jazz band had an outstanding performance at the University of Houston jazz competition on Feb. 23.
The MMS Jazz I and II won the prestigious award of being named the University of Houston jazz competition “Best of the Festival”.
They also had five students earn jazz all – star recognition. The selected jazz all-stars were Erik Alvarado, Danielle Gonzalez, Lizeth Castro, Ethan Spindle, and David Day.
David Day also performed a guitar solo and was selected as the Best Soloist of the festival.
