Cassandra Divin and Kyle Collins have had successful athletic seasons, and now they will get to continue their winning streaks into college.
On May 22, Divin, Harlingen High School senior, signed her letter of intent to run at the collegiate level as a member of the Louisiana Tech Track Team. She signed with a full athletic scholarship from the college.
Kyle Collins, Harlingen High School South senior, signed his letter of intent with the Texas Lutheran University to play football on May 23.
Excitement rang from the students, teachers and members of administration that came out to show their support as for the student-athletes signing.
This year, Divin was named the District 31 -5A Champion by placing first in both the 200 meter run and 400 meter run at the district meet. She also earned second place at the area meet, and qualified to compete at the region level.
Collins, a wide receiver for the HHSS football team, assisted the team to a bi-district championship this year.
