The United Launch Alliance presented the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District with a check in the amount of $2,500 to help fund Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs.
“This is part of ULA’s effort to help support STEM-related education in our community,” said Ralph Luaces, Manufacturing Engineering Manager at ULA. “HCISD is spreading STEM-related programs across all campuses to include elementary schools and middle schools. It’s fantastic to start catching these students at a younger age so they can gain an interest early on and be better prepared at later ages.”
With this donation – in addition to the annual contributions it makes to help fund robotics teams at Harlingen High School, Harlingen High School South, and Early College High School – ULA hopes to inspire the next generation of engineers.
