The Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) recently awarded $5,858.50 in instructional support grants to HCISD Middle School music programs for the purchase of full-ensemble concert performance music. Overall, TMEA awarded over $700,000 in grants to school programs across the state.

“We are continually working to improve music curricula, teaching, and learning and selection of quality, level-appropriate literature is a key ingredient to advancing the rigor found in our new Fine Arts-Music TEKS,” said Dr. Sabrina Quintana Director of Music Education. “Through the support of the TMEA grants, our middle school recipients are able to purchase high-quality repertoire for their bands, choirs, and orchestras.
