Three students from the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District are taking their athletic and academic dreams out of state after Adan Valadez, Miranda Valdez, and Mackenzie Wiley signed their letters of intent to play sports at the college level.
Valadez, senior at Harlingen High School, has signed with Gillette College in Gillette, Wyoming to run cross country.
Harlingen High School South senior Valdez will be joining the Lady Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan University to play softball in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Wiley, also senior at Harlingen South has signed with the NCAA Division III University of Northwestern – St. Paul to play softball in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Students, coaches, community members, college representatives and members of administration came out to share the excitement during the official signing ceremony at the respective campus.
