Students compete in 5th annual Elementary UIL District Meet

1st Place- Stuart Place Elementary – Large Schools
1st Place – Crockett Elementary – Small Schools

Students from all across HCISD participated in the fifth annual Elementary UIL District Meet held on Saturday, February 18 at Memorial Middle School. Stuart Place Elementary took the Sweepstakes win with the most overall points earned.

Over 500 4th and 5th-grade students competed in ten different academic events: Art, Dictionary Skills, Listening, Maps and Charts, Music Memory, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Social Studies, and Spelling. Students perfected their skills after school with the assistance of nearly 190 teachers and staff coaching them for the yearly event.

The final placement for each campus is as follows:

Small Schools

1st-Crockett Elementary
2nd-Jefferson Elementary
3rd-Austin Elementary
4th-Wilson Elementary
5th-Bowie Elementary
6th-Zavala Elementary
7th-Travis Elementary
8th-Milam Elementary
9th-Dishman Elementary
10th-Houston Elementary

Large Schools

1st-Stuart Place Elementary
2nd-Lamar Elementary
3rd-Treasure Hills Elementary
3rd-Rodriguez Elementary
5th-Lee Means Elementary
6th-Long Elementary
7th-Bonham Elementary
