The students at Stuart Place Elementary came together to help “man’s best friend” this January.
Stuart Place participated in the third annual Give a Dog a Bone fundraiser. They collected a total of $1,844 for the dogs, cats and other furry friends at the Harlingen Humane Society.
The funds raised will go to purchasing food and medical care for the animals at the shelter.
To participate, students purchased paper bones to decorate for one dollar. Students proudly displayed their customized bones in their classrooms. Several students went above and beyond when raising money for the humane society. They asked neighbors and friends for donations to purchase additional bones.
The Stuart Place Community Resources Cadre sponsored the event.
