While students received the day off, educators and administrators at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District were hard at work taking classes of their own.
The Staff Development Department at HCISD hosted its annual Learning Extravaganza on Oct. 8. The event is an educator in-service, which allows individuals to attend seminars with topics ranging from technology to poetry in the classroom.
The charge of the event is to provide educators with a day of learning for the benefit of their classrooms and campuses.
