Jacob Fraga (Cano Academy), John Fraga, Brenden Martinez, and Timothy Gomez, part of Harlingen High School South’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team will be traveling to the National Leadership Conference to be held in Chicago, Illinois this summer.
They qualified for the national competition after competing in at the State Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Jacob Fraga placed first in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedures. John Fraga placed first in Security Investments, and Brenden Martinez and Timothy Gomez placed third in Sports Entertainment. John Roseff and Ruby Tamayo placed fourth in Management Information Systems.
Also placing at the state level, Cassandra Rubio earned fifth place in Help Desk; Savannah Monterrey and Emily Susen placed fifth in Hospitality Management; Alexandria Martinez placed fifth in Introduction to Information Technology.
To qualify for the national competition, the individuals had to place in the top three of their event.
Future Business Leaders of America is an education association, which prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields by competition in areas of technology, public speaking, business, finance, and management.
