Each legislative year, Texas Parent Teacher Association (PTA) hosts Rally Day, a day designated for PTA members from across the state to gather at the Capitol and rally for public education.
For the second legislative session in a row, Harlingen CISD PTA members traveled to Austin to represent the community. This year 17 students and 12 chaperones were able to attend.
“Our goal was to increase our numbers so we could give parents and students more exposure to the event, and we did,” said Beatrice Cruz, Harlingen City Council Treasurer. “I look forward to seeing Harlingen CISD representation at future statewide PTA events.”
Students attending had the opportunity to see the Capitol and learn more about the legislative session.
