HCISD is proud to announce that Michelle Ayala has been selected as the director for the Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program.

Ayala has 18 years of experience in education and has dedicated 15 of those years to HCISD.

During her time in the district, she has served as a teacher, instructional coach, elementary assistant principal, and secondary assistant principal. During this time, she was also recognized as Teacher of the Year and TEPSA Region 1 Assistant Principal of the Year.

Ayala holds a bachelor’s in EC-4 Generalist Bilingual Education from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg and a master’s in educational leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont.

“I am honored and enthusiastic about being named HCISD’s ACE Director,” Ayala said. “HCISD ACE is an after-school program that invites our students to explore and enrich their educational journey through high-quality instruction in Math, Reading, and STEM-focused experiences. I look forward to enhancing the program and providing opportunities for our students beyond the four walls of our classrooms.”
