Two students from the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District are continuing their pursuit to achieve academic and athletic excellence into their college years.
Kenny Zamarano, senior at Harlingen High School South, and Demmee Rodriguez, a 2012 graduate of Harlingen High School, signed their letters of intent to become a collegiate athlete at the Texas A & M University – Kingsville.
Zamorano signed with the A & M Kingsville track team on May 17. He has been a active participant on the HHSS track team and recently placed second in discus at the Region IV- 5A Area Meet.
Demmee Rodriguez accomplished her to dream to play college basketball on May 15. Rodriguez has been attending Texas A & M Kingsville for the last year.
To celebrate, administration, teachers and students came out to share the excitement in the respective campuses gymnasiums for the student-athletes signings.
