HHSS FBLA soars above during state competition

The Harlingen High School South Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter soared above the competition at the State competition held in Dallas, Texas on March 8.

Future Business Leaders of America is an education association, which prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields by competing in areas of technology, public speaking, business, finance, and management.

Eighteen HHSS FBLA members competed against 1,500 students from across Texas in over 50 events with individuals placing in the top four.

John Fraga placed third in Business Law.  Alejos Salazar placed second in Computer Applications and Priscilla Tran placed fourth in Health Care Administration.

John Fraga and Alejos Salazar qualified for the National competition and  will travel to Anaheim, California to compete, later this year.

To qualify for the national competition, the individuals had to place in the top three of their event.
