Harlingen High School senior Remzi Memik placed 4th during the San Antonio Regional Wrestling meet.
Wrestling in the 285 division, Memik is the first-ever wrestling state qualifier at Harlingen High School.
Memik is a multi-sport athlete who split his practice time between football, powerlifting, and wrestling. Due to this, he started competing in wrestling in late December.
Now, he has advanced to compete at the 2023 UIL Wrestling State Championships in Cypress, Texas, on February 17-18.
