Faith Franklin, a senior track and field athlete at Harlingen High School, signed her letter of intent to further her athletic and academic career at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Family and friends gathered at the Harlingen High School cafeteria on December 8 to witness and congratulate her.
Franklin shared advice for athletes who want to compete in any sport at any level.
“You have to want it, but you also have to be patient,” Franklin said. “Stay determined, stay focused, but don’t focus on the factors you can’t control.”
