HHS and South students place on Academic All-State Teams




The Texas High School Coaches Association has recognized two seniors from Harlingen High School and three from Harlingen High School South as Academic All-State Athletes.

Each year, high school senior athletes are nominated by their head coach to be recognized with this honor. His or her GPA, class rank, and SAT score determine the team on which each student is placed.

Kayla Perez and Jacob Fierro represented HHS Basketball, with Perez receiving Honorable Mention and Fierro on 2nd Team.

Representing HHSS Girls Soccer, Ruayda Bouls was placed on 1st Team, Emily Galarza received Honorable Mention, and Arnelle Gonzalez placed on 2nd Team.

For South Girl’s Basketball, Emily Susen and District 32-6A’s Most Valued Player, Ruayda Bouls were named to both the Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All State Selection.
