HHS and HHSS Marching Bands qualify for UIL State Marching Competition

The Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South Marching Bands left their mark at the UIL Area Marching Contest on Oct. 27.

Over 30,000 parents, administrators, students and community members were present to watch the HHS and HHSS Marching Bands take first and third place overall, respectively.

The HHSS ranking is the highest in the band’s history.

A total of 42 bands from the lower Rio Grande Valley, Laredo and San Antonio competed at the event.

The bands were one of eight to qualify for the UIL State Marching Contest.

The Alamodome will host the UIL State Marching Contest in San Antonio on Nov. 6.
