The Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South Marching Bands received top ratings at the Pigskin Jubilee on Oct. 20.
Both bands received a Division 1 rating and have advanced to the next round in the UIL state marching competition.
A total of 17 marching bands qualified for the area competition.
The Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex in Laredo will host the next round on Oct. 27. HHSS will perform at 9:30 a.m., and HHS will perform at 5:30 p.m.
Their upcoming performance at the UIL Area Marching Contest will determine if they qualify for the state competition on Nov. 6.
