The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District earned the top honors in six categories of the Reader’s Choice Awards earning the best school awards for Best Elementary School, Best Middle School, and Best High School.
Stuart Place Elementary, Memorial Middle School, and Harlingen High School all received awards based on votes by readers of the Valley Morning Star.
HCISD also received individual and team awards presented to Nora Ortega for Best Paraprofessional (Bowie Elementary), Manny Gomez for Best Coach (Harlingen High School) and Harlingen High School for Best Sports Team.
