At a special noon board meeting on Oct. 1, the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the posting for the position of Superintendent of Schools for HCISD.
The board unanimously voted to limit their search to individuals currently employed by HCISD.
“We want to do our due diligence to our community, and we want the voice of every board member to be heard” said Board of Trustees President George McShan. “The job posting will be posted across the district. We are looking for an individual that possesses the ability to be a visionary instructional leader while remaining focused on moving our students toward success.”
The posting will be in accordance with board policy BJB (LEGAL) and must be posted for a minimum of 10 days before the position is filled; however, once named, the district must wait “21 days before the date of the meeting at which a final action vote is to be taken” according to Chapter 552, Government Code (Public Information Act).
