Harlingen Learning Community meets for professional development

Administrators and professional staff members at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District met for professional development at their monthly Harlingen Learning Community on Oct. 10.

Those in attendance were provided with an overview of the proceedings at the October School Board meeting, and Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores’ participation in the Tribune Festival panel for Texas Superintendents.

Pinterest was shared as one of the topics during the Layers of Learning presentation, and how educators can use it to promote educational advancement and interaction amongst students.

Methods of instruction and assessment to achieve educational excellence were greatly emphasized throughout the meeting.

HLC meetings are hosted to empower HCISD’s community members with knowledge. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month, and will occur until the end of the school year.
