Austin Elementary student recognized as Top 10 in the State for language advancement

Austin Elementary IB World School first grader, Santiago Zambrano, was recognized for being a Top 10 student in the State for advancements he made using the Summit K12- TELPAS online speaking domain practice.

The Summit K-12 program assesses and develops English language proficiency and academic progress among students. The Top 10 Speaking for Grades K-1 acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the educators, students, and administrators who contributed to Zambrano’s achievement.

To celebrate his state recognition, the Harlingen CISD Multi-Language Department, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education Lori Romero, and Austin Elementary IB World School administrators visited his first-grade classroom, which is led by instructor Norma Cervantes.

Zambrano was presented with a certificate and a gift.
