The Harlingen High School South Air Force JROTC earned the Distinguished Unit with Merit honors this past school year for the sixth consecutive year.
The designation from the United States Air Forces placed HHSS as one of the top 15 percent performing programs in the world.
In working to complete its annual goals in order to receive the distinction, the cadets visited Golden Palms retirement home on Memorial Day to conduct a patriotic presentation that highlighted the branches of the armed forces.
