For more than 25 years, the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District has held a Graduation Celebration for its seniors to celebrate their accomplishments with friends in a safe, drug and alcohol free environment. Parents and community members work together to make the celebration unique for the graduates of all HCISD comprehensive high schools.
Graduation Celebration 2013 will be held on Saturday, June 1 at the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Sport and Wellness Center in Harlingen from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
This celebration promises to be a memorable evening for all Harlingen graduates. There will be plenty of free food, dancing, sumo wrestling, riding the mechanical bull, rock climbing, casino games, senior raffle drawings, prize giveaways and plenty of chances to win money in the Money Machine, which is available to students who sell raffle tickets. Graduates that stay until the end have the opportunity to win prizes including the car donated by Boggus Ford as well as the cash prizes totaling $5,000.00.
The celebration is made possible through fundraising from senior raffle ticket sales, and outside donations from parents and community members. This years sponsors include Boggus Ford, Valley Baptist Health Center, Dr. and Mrs. Juan Maldonado, Valley Baptist Service Corporation, Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Flores and FASTSIGNS.
