In a gathering that paid homage to the past, present, and future of the United States Armed Forces, Veterans from the Harlingen High School Multi-Class Reunion Group presented a $300 donation to the HHS Army JROTC during the Veteran’s Day Ceremony held Nov. 9 at the campus.
“Our Veterans were very honored to attend the Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Harlingen High School and were so proud to present a check to such deserving students,” said Diana Weaver Rosales, HHS Multi-Class Reunion Treasurer.
The multi-class group is comprised of HHS alumni from classes 1960-1975.
The generous contribution will be used towards uniform items for the 5th Brigade JROTC Drill Championships, which will be held on Jan. 7, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. The team hopes to receive a “Top 10” rating to advance to the US Army Drill Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky in April next year.
“This donation was not expected but has inspired the young ladies of the Silver Guard Unarmed Drill and Color Guard Teams to practice even harder than before to show the HHS Multi-Class Reunion Veterans how much they appreciate their support,” said Master Sergeant Juan Gonzales.
