Vela takes third place sweeps in high-school speech contest


Vela Middle School’s speech and debate team competed at the Sharyland High School TFA tournament held Jan. 6. With thirteen competitors in their ranks, the group went up against 16 schools, of which only three were middle schools. The team’s commitment to practicing during the holiday break paid off as many of them took semi-finalist spots, and together they walked away with the 3rd place Sweepstakes Award.

Original Oratory-

Domestic Extemp-
8th place – Alie Rosignol
