Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District engineering teams are getting assistance from the United Launch Alliance to embark on another successful competition season.
The ULA presented the Harlingen High School, Harlingen High School South, and Early College High School engineering clubs with three separate checks totaling $5,000. The funds will go towards purchasing materials used by students for various robotic competitions.
“We want to thank ULA for their continued support of our engineering students at HCISD,” said Joseph Rigdon ECHS teacher and engineering club sponsor. “Without their help, we could not exist.”
The ULA provides grants to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs at local schools. With the awarded funds, the ULA looks to facilitate an environment that increases interest in STEM related fields.
