The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Michele Todd as the new principal of Stuart Place Elementary, and adopted the calendar for the 2012-2013 school year during a special meeting Wednesday night.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Todd received her masters degree from the University of Texas – Brownsville.

“Stuart Place has a history of achievement, and I’m confident that Michele Todd will continue that tradition,” Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores said. “Michele has excelled in her ability in leading a professional learning community, demonstrating her ability to be an extraordinary leader. Her experience working with children and parents in this community makes her a special addition to any school in our district.”
