The Harlingen High School South Speech Drama and Debate team had an outstanding performance at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions this past weekend in Kansas City Missouri.
Jaime Gomez became the school’s first National Champion in Prose Interpretation. Valerie Luevanos and James Gracia placed 4th in Duet Acting. John Duncan and Valerie Luevanos advanced to the quarterfinal round in Duo Interpretation. The school won the Act II first place sweepstakes as well. The tournament hosted over 150 schools representing 26 states.
