Harlingen School of Health Professions’ Matthew Garcia and Daniela Ramos will be advancing to the HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Conference as a result of a successful area competition in January.
Facing off against juniors and seniors, ninth graders Garcia and Ramos competed in Researched Persuasive Speaking and KT Behavioral Health respectively.
As a team, Alex Castillo, Marco Martinez and Maleni Arredondo, placed fifth in Creative Problem Solving.
The Area 7 competition was well attended by over 1,200 delegates, and 125 chapters from across all of South Texas including Corpus Christi.
The state competition will take place on April 14-16 at Galveston Convention Center in Galveston, Texas.
