High school cross country teams advancing to regional competition

The Harlingen High School Boys and Girls Cross Country teams qualified to compete at the Regional Cross Country Meet, which will be held Saturday, November 1st, in San Antonio.

This comes on the heels of their success at the District 32-6A Cross Country Meet held in Brownsville on Friday, October 17.

The Cardinal Boys team will advance after placing second overall. As an individual runner, Orser Rodriguez placed first and achieved the District Championship.

The Cardinal Girls team place third overall at the meet. Harlingen High School South Girls Cross Country team member, Mya Price, will also advance to the regional meet as an individual runner after placing seventh.

Harlingen High School Boys Cross Country:

·         Placed 2^nd as a team overall and team will advance to the Regional CC Meet

·         Individuals on team and their placement in the meet

·         Orser Rodriguez – 1^st place – District Champion

·         Lorenzo Castaneda – 6^th place

·         Edward Ramos – 9^th place

·         Adrian Hernandez – 13^th place

·         Fernando Escobar – 15^th place

·         Mason Ford – 17^th place

·         Adan Valadez – 19^th place

Harlingen High School Girls Cross Country:

·         Placed 3^rd as a team overall and team will advance to the Regional CC Meet

·         Individuals on team and their placement in the meet

·         Crystal Lopez – 5^th place

·         Chelsea Rodriguez – 9^th place

·         Alice Garcia – 17^th place

·         Vanesa Hernandez Flores – 22^nd place

·         Serenity Jaruboon – 23^rd place

·         Clarissa Gonzalez – 35^th place

·         Gizel Landaverde – 44^th place

Harlingen South High School Girls Cross Country:

·         Placed 5^th as a team overall

·         Individuals on team and their placement in the meet.

·         Mya Price – 7^th place (advances to Regional Meet as an individual runner)

·         Kayla Munivez – 29^th place

·         Genesis Cruz – 31^st place

·         Sonia Quintana – 34^th place

·         Blanca Mendiola – 40^th place
