The Harlingen High School South Football program invites the community to attend an exciting football scrimmage at J. Lewis Boggus Stadium on May 25.
This is the first time HHSS will host a spring scrimmage. It will serve as a way to gain support, prepare, and create excitement for the upcoming season, said HHSS Head Football Coach, Lanny Wilson. The game will begin at 9:30a.m.
The HHSS football team will go head to head against each other in a two-quarter game. Fifteen officials will monitor the game, which will follow the same rules and regulations as the regular season.
“We have high expectations for this coming season,” said Wilson. “We have a lot of returning athletes and tough guys working hard. They look forward to meeting those expectations.”
The event is free to the public, and the HHSS Football Booster club will be selling BBQ plates to fundraise for the team. All money raised will go to the purchasing of new equipment.
