Harlingen High School South seniors Victoria De La Cruz and Giselle Gonzales are giving back to the community with fashion.
During the week of Jan. 14 to Feb. 8, the seniors partnered with the “Teens for Jeans” campaign hosted by Aeropostale and Do Something.org to collect slightly used jeans for families in need of assistance. They asked their classmates to get in on the action and donate their slightly used jeans to drop off at the Harlingen Aeropostale Department Store. Their request was answered when they collected 200 pairs of pants throughout the week.
For every pair of jeans donated, Aeropostale would give all blue jean donations to a homeless shelter in the local community. Students who donated received a 25% discount on their next purchase of jeans from the store.
