Harlingen High School students are headed to the state level Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) competition after an outstanding performance at the regional level this November.
Students competed with over 600 individuals from across South Texas at the University of Texas Pan-American. Seniors Estephanie Dorado, Alejandra Gonzalez, and Sandra Perez placed second in the Energy Education Day competition, and first in the Service Project competition.
Individually, Dorado placed first in TAFE Moment Speech. Vanessa Gonzales placed 1st in Exploring Professional Support Services Careers competition.
Seniors, Vanessa Gonzales, Josue Avalos, Amanda Elizondo, Crystal Flores, and sophomore Samantha Alvarez are advancing to State in the Educational Leadership Fundamentals Test.
The state competition will be held in San Antonio in late February.
