HEB donates $8,500 for district digital initiatives

The students at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District are getting a little help from HEB to continue learning in 21st century environments.

During their grand re-opening, HEB presented an $8,500 check to HCISD to assist the development of the district’s digital literacy initiatives. There to accept the check on behalf of HCISD was Interim Superintendent Dr. Arturo J. Cavazos and presenting the donation was Linda Tovar, HEB Region Public Affairs Manager.

Community and city leaders came out to celebrate HEB’s donations to local organizations and the grand re-opening of the store. To provide entertainment, Members of the Harlingen High School South Marching Band played spirited tunes throughout the event.
