Focusing on the wellness of all staff members, the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District kicked off the first in a series health fairs across the district at the Administration Building on February 2.
Over the next three months, the district will host health fairs at campuses to provide district employees with the opportunity to get important health tests provided by HCISD. Fairs will be hosted at numerous campuses throughout the remaining school year.
Campuses or departments will receive $10.00 towards their wellness fund for each employee that fully participates in the lab and personal health risk assessment.
As a bonus, those who fully participate in the health fair will have their name entered in a raffle where they will have a chance to win either an iPad, exercise equipment or bikes among other items to help facilitate their health and wellness efforts. The raffle will take place in May 2016. Winners will be announced by email.
*Before having blood tests, district employees are asked to fast for 12 hours.
