Harlingen High School South student Cassie Fitting and Vela Middle School student Hunter Lamon have gone where no two Harlingen students have gone before by recently competing and placing in the San Antonio Livestock and Exposition (SALE) this February.

Fitting, a Future Farmers of America (FFA) member, and her Fine Wool Cross show lamb won first place out of 44 other competitors in the 5th weight division. Over 1,000 lambs were competing throughout the entire competition.

Lamon, a FFA Junior member, received third place out of 41 entries in the Middle Weight ABC Steer division.

Harlingen has never had two competitors attend and place in the SALE in the same year before.
