The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District earned the top honors in five categories of the Reader’s Choice Awards earning the best school awards for best high school, middle school, and elementary school.
Harlingen High School, Coakley Middle School, and Bowie Elementary all received awards which were based on voting by Valley Morning Star readers.
“It is my honor and privilege to work with an amazing team of teachers and educators whose dedication makes a difference in the lives of children,” said Susan Salinas, Principal, Bowie Elementary. “On behalf of the entire staff of Bowie Elementary I would like to express our extreme appreciation to the parents and community for this very special award.”
HCISD also received individual awards presented to Susan Salinas for Best Principal (Bowie Elementary), and Richard Walter for Best Teacher Asst. / Paraprofessional (Transportation Department).
