Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley that will create a new opportunity for Harlingen students to take Dual Credit college courses on pathways designed to meet the University’s core requirements for a bachelor’s degree.
HCISD students also will have the opportunity to take Dual Credit college courses at Early College High School that lead to careers in education and engineering.
With a shared interest in the success of students in the RGV, Guy Bailey, president of UTRGV, Superintendent Dr. Art Cavazos, and Board of Trustees President George McShan signed the agreement during a regular board meeting held August 8, 2017.
