Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South competed in the District 31-6A/32-6A Area Tennis Tournament last week. Both teams defeated their quarterfinal and semifinal opponents which led to a tennis championship match between the Harlingen Cardinals and Hawks.
Harlingen South took the lead with a final score of 10-1. Harlingen High School South and Harlingen High School were named Area Champion and Area Runner-up respectively. Both teams will advance to the Regional Tournament on October 27-28 in San Antonio at the Northside Tennis Center.
