Students participate in 3rd Annual Cardinal Classic

Hogs, cows, and goats, oh my! Harlingen High School life skills students and members of the campus FFA participated in the 3rd Annual Cardinal Classic on February 23. This program brings the student groups together to learn from one another and interact with livestock at the HCISD Ag Farm.

Working to meet the needs of the animals and learn the duties of FFA members, the life skills students helped escort and brush the animals.

“This program benefits everyone involved,” said Director for Special Education Daniel Garza. “The FFA members practiced showing animals with our students, similar to how they do in livestock shows. After walking with the animals, our students went home with champion trophies as their parents proudly watched.”
