Harlingen CISD is proud to announce Vanessa Medrano as principal of Dishman Elementary and Robert Euvino as interim principal of the Secondary Alternative Center (SAC).
Vanessa Medrano brings nearly two decades of experience in public education and a strong commitment to student success, instructional excellence, and building positive school cultures. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of leadership and teaching roles.
She most recently served as assistant principal at Gutierrez Middle School of Arts and Sciences. Prior to joining HCISD campus leadership, Medrano served as an instructional coach, supporting teachers and helping strengthen instructional practices to improve student achievement. Before moving into leadership, Medrano spent more than a decade in the classroom as a bilingual and dual language educator.
Medrano holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at Brownsville.
Throughout her career, Medrano has been recognized twice as an H-E-B Excellence in Education Finalist.
“I am humbled and honored to be named principal of Dishman Elementary and grateful for the opportunity to serve this campus and community,” Medrano said. “I look forward to building strong connections with students, staff, families, and the community as we work together to support student growth and success.”
Robert Euvino brings 16 years of experience in education and a proven track record of instructional leadership, campus operations, and student support.
He most currently served as associate principal at Harlingen High School South. Prior to that, Euvino served as both an assistant principal and a teacher. Throughout his career, he has led curriculum initiatives, coordinated student support systems, managed campus discipline and safety programs, and worked closely with teachers to improve student achievement and engagement.
Euvino holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration with Principal Certification from The University of Texas at Tyler and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from The University of Texas-Pan American. He currently serves on the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 1 Board of Directors and is a recipient of the United States Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
