Kasey

Instructional Technologist Kasey Boykin was recently named an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE). ADEs are part of a global community of over 2,000 education leaders recognized for doing extraordinary things with Apple technology in and out of the classroom.

“I am truly honored and blessed to be recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator. At Harlingen CISD, we put forth our very best to ensure students have the tools and resources necessary to be successful in the classroom,” said Boykin. “This community of innovative educators (ADEs) will provide us with an avenue of rich digital content and many learning opportunities. My efforts would not be possible without HCISD’s outstanding leadership and the support of the fantastic team I am a part of.  I am very excited to begin my journey as an Apple Distinguished Educator and I look forward to the endless possibilities this program will bring to Harlingen CISD. “

Since 2012, Kasey has led the Digital Classroom Initiative and has played a crucial role in the implementation of HCISD’s High Access Bring Your Own Device Program. She is an advocate for digital learning and loves to teach others how to utilize technology in the most effective ways. She has been a part of the TASA (Texas Association of School Administrators) on iTunes U Project and has served as IT Lead and CTE Lead for numerous projects. Her work with TASA has allowed her to curate content on iTunes U aligned to the TEKS for teachers in the State of Texas. This same concept is currently being implemented through the Digital Classroom Initiative. Also, Kasey has represented HCISD at a number of Apple events, conferences, and seminars to highlight the transformational work happening in Harlingen.

With her selection, Boykin will join a prestigious group of elite educators in the Apple Distinguished Educators Class of 2015. As part of this experience, Boykin will have opportunities to participate in numerous learning events that will impact education in our country and beyond.

The Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) Program began in 1994, when Apple recognized K-12 and higher education pioneers who are using a variety of Apple products to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways.
