The Houston Elementary Girls’ Chess Team from earned top marks at the Texas Girl’s State Championship hosted at St. Alban’s Episcopal School in Harlingen on September 26.
The event was open to girls from public and private schools across the state.
As a team in the K-5 Division, the team walked away with 1st Place for the third time in a row.
Individually, Gianelli Serrano earned 5th place, Izabel Vazquez earned 8th place, Rory Jimenez earned 14th place, and Jazmin Olivarez earned 15th place.
