Faculty, staff and administrators will have their pay increased after Tuesday night’s decision by the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees.
Teachers, librarians and nurses will see an increase of $1,200 annually as a result of the board’s vote. Professionals and administrators of Harlingen CISD will receive a 2.5 percent increase of their position’s midpoint salary. Paraprofessional and hourly staff will receive a 3 percent wage increase at their position’s midpoint wage.
Employees need to be in their current positions for 90 days to be qualified for the pay raise. On the hiring front, the Harlingen CISD Human Resource Department has been busy filling administrative positions across several campuses as well as the administrative building.
The board approved the hiring of Michelle Everett to fill the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction position at Tuesday’s meeting. The board also approved the hiring of Sandra Tovar for the Director of Guidance & Counseling position and Gil Tello to be Principal of the Secondary Alternative Center.
Earlier this month, the board approved the hiring of Dr. Joe Rodriguez as Principal at Harlingen High School South; Jesse Gallegos as principal of KEYS Academy; Shane Strubhart as the Director of Communications/KHGN; Dr. Sabrina Quintana as the Director of Music Education; Roland Ingram as an Instructional Facilitator at Harlingen High School South; and Loretta Lynn Sanchez as the Assistant Principal at Bowie Elementary.
