During a special meeting/budget workshop on July 12, the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved Cost of Living Increases for all district employees.
Teachers will receive an increase of $1,300, while administration and other professions will be given an increase of 2.6 percent of the midpoint. An increase of 3 percent was approved for auxiliary and hourly employees. Also given was a fifty-cent hourly increase to bus drivers.
“Our district is in the fortunate position to be able to reward administrators, teachers, staff members and professionals for their hard work,” said Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores. “As we continue to transform our district, the expectations we hold for our employees are high. I commend our Board of Trustees for their action, because I believe that our expectations will continue to be exceeded while we continue our path toward becoming one of the best school districts in the region, state and nation.”
The increases will go into action for the 2013 – 2014 school year.
Thank you to the board, Dr. Flores, & anyone else involved in rewarding HCISD staff members for all of their hard work. It is the best school district & I’d teach nowhere else.
Thats great these guys really deserve this and more.
Wow! Being here for the past 2 years, I have seen a supportive school board that has concentrated on making Harlingen one of the best school districts in the state of Texas. This is the reason why our school employees work hard to keep it above the rest. Great Job and the HHS Cardinal JROTC Department salutes you all!
